Cooperation with GEO DB, Seismic-pro, CPT-CAD and VANE-pro programs for data exchange

Other features and functions of the program
The GEO DB program, functionally linked to CPT-pro, enables the database recording of borehole profiles and geotechnical parameters and the creation of geological documentation (borehole logs, reports, etc.). Therefore, CPT-pro can be used to create general, comprehensive geotechnical and geological documentation.
Implemented procedures for importing various CPT/CPTU data formats generated by CPT measurement system manufacturers, as well as for importing and exporting data in the GEF, AGS, and CSV exchange formats, enable the interpretation of virtually all CPT soundings performed using various equipment.
The advanced CAD graphics built into the CPT-CAD and CPT Explorer modules enable the creation of high-quality graphical documentation, including maps and cross-sections, in DWG and DXF formats.
Using the graphic tools of CPT-pro, particularly CAD type ones implemented in CPT-CAD and CPT Explorer modules, you may generate high quality and complete geotechnical and geological documentation. The built-in export procedures enable saving the drawings (maps and sections) created by the program in the form of DWG and DXF files, that enable further proceeding - if necessary - in other graphic programs, like AutoCAD, MICROSTATION etc.
An important mechanism implemented in CPT-pro is export to the IFC format, which is the basic format for exchanging and archiving data in BIM technology.
Procedures for offshore soundings, including Down-The-Hole testing and automatic joining separate datafiles into ones are implemented.
Included Batch Processing and Batch Printing procedures make data reduction and interpretation extremely efficient and time saving.
Borehole logs and results of field surveys can be saved in GEO DB database and documented in relevant logs. With this option CPT-pro can be used for generation of complex geological and geotechnical documentation.

Thumbnails with graphs of all tests saved in selected directory are automatically generated. To generate header information highlight selected thumbnail. To select test for further analysis just double click it.

Selection of CPT test for further interpretation may be realized by double click of relevant symbol on map.
Wersion with CPT-CAD module allows to insert DWG / DXF map as background, edition of that map and printing.
Classification of soils
The CPT-pro program has implemented many interpretation procedures for soil classification. These are:

New graphic component allows to generate high quality printouts. layout of log i.e. number and location of graphs, location of header table, line characteristics etc. are fully controlled and customizable by operator.
Additional functions like tracking of parameter values and tracking classification result (individual and cloud) allows detailed analysis.


Interpretation of geotechnical parameters
CPT-pro currently includes 48 different interpretation procedures for interpreting geotechnical parameters. New procedures are being added continuously.

In spite of number of implemented correlations, an add-on Formula Editor implemented in CPT-pro allows generate own complex conditional interpretation formulas, in which equations may vary depending on classification result, depth and values of selected parameter. All mathematical functions used in engineering practice are available.

Characteristic values of parameters
The CPT-pro program allows you to define geotechnical (GT) and geological-engineering (GI) layers, in which characteristic values of geotechnical parameters are automatically calculated. The division into GI and GT layers is presented next to the lithological profile. Calculation results together with the values of basic statistics can be saved in XLS format.

Characteristic values of parameters are calculated using advanced statistical methods, including:

- Duncan method
- Polish Standard PN-81/B-03020
- First/fourth quarter method
- Confidence interval limits and Student's t-distribution
Dissipation tests
Analysis of dissipation tests is implemented. All relevant dissipation times like T20, T30 etc. are automatically calculated and presented on dissipation log.

Additional functions and properties
Extended header is fully compatible to GEF 1.1.3 and AGS 4.0. All fields included in these formats are included in Extended Header. User may select fields for printout in additional report.

Offshore Down-The-Hole test result consist of a number of short tests (usually around 3 m) separated by drilled sections. Implemented Automatic joining procedure generates one continuous CPTU log taking into account the location of zero tests.

The program enables full interpretation of DMT (Marchetti Dilatometer Test) tests according to the methods and correlations developed by prof. Silvano Marchetti. DMT interpretation results can be combined with CPT interpretation results on the same log or in a separate document.

A unique feature of the CPT interpretation software CPT-pro is the calculation of characteristic values of parameters using a number of statistical methods.
The CPT-pro program allows defining geotechnical and geological-engineering layers, in which characteristic values of geotechnical parameters are automatically calculated. Calculation results together with the values of basic statistics can be saved in XLS format.

An additional reporting function is a tabular summary of classification results and basic characteristics for the selected probe package.
Archiving CPT data Files
CPT-pro allows you to efficiently archive sounding interpretation results. The XCPDX format, developed by Geosoft, allows you to generate a *.XCPDX file containing any number of sounding results previously saved in the XCPD format.
*.XCPDX files contain all native data, calculation data, classification results, geological engineering and geotechnical layers, characteristic parameter values, dissipation test results, and native data and DMT test interpretation results.
The size of XCPDX files is less than half the size of all the component files combined.
XCPDX files are opened from the CPT Explorer module in the same way as directories containing individual files.
